One of my earlier memories is of me sitting next to my cousin Suzette as we were being video by a local news station. If I remember right there was some type of celebration of our Acadian heritage going on and we were dressed in our sun bonnets and aprons. This memory had me thinking of the Olivier House, a raised Creole cottage c. 1815, in the Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site. So on this cool November morning I took a ride out to the site. As I captured different photographs my thoughts kept me thinking of the hot biscuits and cane syrup served to guest on the veranda. It may have been on a cool November mornings just like this. Southern hospitality at its best .
