I received word that my old friend has been blessed with a grandchild. A beautiful little girl called Payton Marie. She'll be a snow bunny for most of her life living in the Colorado Rockies but with such a rich heritage from her Acadian grandmother she will learn to love the Atchafalaya River Basin. I'm on a search for her first sun bonnet (garde solies- cajun bonnet). I hope many pictures will come my way.

Their are times that I don't write on this blog as you can plainly see. My thinking is that I have nothing to say that matters to anyone except me. But the pictures that I post from time to time gives me a feeling of peace and for some reason I feel the need to share them. This Atchafalaya landscape with it's mysterious wetlands is home to me so I will continue to try and share my experience in this peaceful place. With that being said, I have this to share.
The recent death of a friend who always encouraged me to post my picutres has me feeling that peace is something that everyone needs a little bit of. He really was a special person. He struggled like we all do with this overwhelming life. But he had a special gift and I'll be listening for the sweet sound of his trumpet as he plays for the celestial crowds.
Rest in peace Darryl
